GALA Concert - THIS YEAR THERE WILL BE Tw0!
Friday May 16 and Friday May 30, 2025 at 6.30pm
The 44th Gulgong Eisteddfod will again finish with TWO Gala Concerts, which feature the best of the performances of the previous few weeks.
The first concert (on May 16) will represent a selection of performances from Dance.
The 2nd concert (on May 30) will represent all aspects of the Music and Speech and Drama Sections. It will feature piano, vocal, instrumental and hopefully a school group or two, along with a selection of Speech & Drama competitors. The performances will represent all levels and ages, from those fairly new to their chosen field, to those nearing the end of school and at an advanced level.
The showpiece of the night will be the Roger Woodward Playoff, where the best of the best, as chosen by the adjudicator, will compete for the $400 prize, and also for the Audience Choice prize of $200. Our Eisteddfod is renowned in the central west for this, and we have people entering our Eisteddfod from far afield in the hope of being invited to be part of this.
Both concerts will be held at the Prince of Wales opera House.
Photos from the 2024 concert can now be seen on our facebook page @gulgongeisteddfod
